Overview

The University of Western Australia (UWA) College recognises that every student’s pathway to university is different, and focuses on helping students develop the study skills necessary to succeed in university. UWA College’s pathway programmes are a great option for students who:

  • Need help improving their English language skills
  • Require additional academic support to meet the direct entry requirements for UWA
  • Have just graduated from high school and need some extra support to make the transition to university

Once a student successfully completes a pathway programme at UWA College – UWA Foundation or a Diploma - and they can commence their studies at UWA without needing to submit another application. Additionally, UWA College programmes are designed in collaboration with the university which gives students the chance to utilise university facilities, study alongside university students, and learn from UWA’s leading academics.

The college’s diplomas are equivalent to the first year of a university degree while offering additional English language and academic support. This allows students to smoothly transition to university life while staying on track with graduation timelines. Students can pursue diploma studies in commerce, computer and data science, or engineering, depending on their interests.

The foundation course prepares students for the first year of an undergraduate degree, offered across eight to 12 months. Students can take advantage of this flexible timeline to tailor the course length according to their own unique needs.

With an 88% learning satisfaction rate, a 94% support satisfaction rate, and a 93% overall student satisfaction rate (INTO Annual Student Experience Survey 2024), UWA College empowers students to reach new heights. Located at the heart of UWA’s Perth campus and with specialist staff on hand for support, studying at UWA College gives students a complete university experience from day one and an opportunity to build study skills in a supportive, interactive environment.
