Overview

The University of Adelaide College offers a range of pathway programmes specifically designed for international students. These programmes help bridge the gap between studies in a student’s home country and direct entry into an Australian university. In addition to academic preparation, they focus on developing English language skills and offering students a rich introduction to Australian culture.

The college currently provides pathways to the University of Adelaide, a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight research-intensive universities. From January 2026, students will also be able to access pathways to the newly launched Adelaide University, which brings together the strengths and heritage of the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide.

With world-class teachers, small class sizes, and a supportive learning environment, the college delivers high-quality, personalised education. Students can choose from the following programmes:

  • Foundation Studies Programme – A pathway to university study after completing Australian Year 11 or its international equivalent.
  • Degree Transfer Programme – Equivalent to the first year of a bachelor’s degree, allowing students who have completed Australian Year 12 (or equivalent) to progress to second-year university entry.
  • Pre-Master’s Programme – Designed to help students meet the academic requirements of master’s degrees and strengthen relevant skills.
  • English Language Programme – Intensive short courses focused on developing academic English skills. This programme was voted the best in Australia by the English Language Barometer (ELB) in 2020.

The University of Adelaide College has campuses in both Melbourne and Adelaide, giving students the opportunity to enjoy different lifestyle experiences. The Adelaide campus offers a safe, affordable, and welcoming environment, while the Melbourne campus introduces students to one of the world’s top-ranked student cities.
